Interested applicants from outside of 科罗拉多大学 may still be considered by completing four required 教育 courses at 科罗拉多大学 the semester (or year) prior to the start of the MAT program. We feel those four classes, which provide critical foundations in multicultural education, educational psychology and culturally responsive teaching are vital to success in the MAT program.
Our focus is on the development of the whole child and best teaching practices for ALL learners. 学生 enrolled in our program will work collaboratively across all disciplines and will come to understand the continuum of learning from elementary through secondary in preparation for any age level or discipline in which they might teach.
During the duration of their teacher preparation students take education foundations coursework, educational psychology and at least one class focusing on diversity and equity in education, multicultural education or urban education. 学生 also engage directly with students in public school classrooms through progressively more intentional practicum experiences. 除了, students will have a solid depth and breadth of understanding in their chosen content area.

Culturally and Linguistically Diverse 教育 Endorsement
The 教育 Department at 科罗拉多大学 has been approved by the Colorado Department of 教育 and recommended by the Colorado Department of Higher 教育 to offer the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse 教育 endorsement. The endorsement is offered in response to the critical need for Colorado K-12 educators to be effectively prepared to teach all learners. The endorsement was a natural fit as 科罗拉多大学's teacher preparation curriculum is built around culturally sustaining pedagogy. In compliance with Title II of the Higher 教育 Act, the following data for 2021-22 (the most recent reporting year) is provided: 13 students were enrolled, and 10 of those students completed the teacher preparation program. There were 5 full-time faculty members, and there were 5 supervising faculty for the teacher preparation program. 学生 participate in supervised student teaching for an average of 40 hours/week for a total of 16 weeks. The pass rate of teacher education students on the PRAXIS II content exam was 100 percent.
